Valerie, the originator of the tag "makermomlife" coined the term after becoming a new mom. As a full time artist, Valerie wanted to document what it was like being an entrepreneur and running a full time business from home, while at the still time juggling parenthood, managing a home, and leading a fulfilling life. She started sharing her favorite "makermomlife" moments on instagram partly to remind herself to never get so busy she missed the poignant, special parts of her daughter's life and also to document ways to balance work and play for other parents as well (whether they stay or work at home, or work outside the home).
Valerie has been a full time artist and blogger for over ten years and as such has had a lot of experience in product design, graphic design, visual merchandising, and a large variety of social media platforms. Having been a writer and author of a parenting blog before, Valerie decided to create Maker Mom Life as an outlet to share all her loves in one spot. The blog Maker Mom Life includes reposts of favorite articles from her old parenting blog as well as new features about life as a designer and vintage curator, helpful resources such as free printables and shopping guides, and other topics of interest to creative people like art, culture, travel, style and design.
